Glock 19 vs 45 vs 47 Gen5 MOS: Which Size for CQB Sidearm?

Quick answer: On the VFC Gen5 MOS listings, pick the G19 for the shorter slide, the G45 if you want the compact-slide, longer-grip shape, or the G47 for the full-size named pistol. All three were in stock on 3 November 2026. Check the product page before you order. Do not assume a Gen3/Gen4 G19 magazine fits a Gen5 MOS.

OEM choice, if you have not made it: Tokyo Marui vs VFC/Umarex Gen5 MOS. Parent: Gen5 MOS Buyer's Guide. Magazines and gas: First Gen5 MOS Loadout.

What the three listings are for

The size words below follow the product pages, including their real-steel notes. They are not holster measurements.

Listing What the page says Who it is for
G19 Gen5 MOS Compact MOS. Metal slide engraved "Glock 19 Gen5". Four optic plates named on the listing. A shorter slide on the belt.
G45 Gen5 MOS The page calls the real-steel G45 a compact slide with a full-size frame. The airsoft listing includes the MOS and four optic plates. Compact slide length with a longer grip.
G47 Gen5 MOS Full-metal slide cut for the MOS, with four optics plates named on the listing. The real-steel note describes a G17-length slide. The full-size named MOS, if that slide length is what you want.

A G19 holster is not automatically a G45 or G47 holster. Check the holster maker's chart.

Umarex (VFC) Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS GBB Airsoft Pistol
VFC Glock 19 Gen5 MOS
Shorter slide. Metal slide and four optic plates on the listing.
Umarex (VFC) Glock 45 Gen 5 MOS GBB Airsoft Pistol
VFC Glock 45 Gen5 MOS
Compact slide with the longer grip the listing describes.
Umarex Glock 47 Gen 5 MOS GBB Airsoft Pistol (VFC G47 Gen 5 MOS)
VFC Glock 47 Gen5 MOS
Full-size named MOS. Listing includes four optics plates.

Pick the slide length first. Then buy the magazine that names that pistol.

When MOS is the wrong extra

  • You will never mount a red dot. An iron-sight Gen5, when its page shows stock, skips plates you will not use.
  • You already own a red dot. Stay on an MOS listing, and match the plate to the optic footprint named on that pistol page.

Magazines, by what the listing names

  • The 22rd VFC magazine title names Glock G17 Gen5 and G45. Do not buy it for a G19 Gen5 MOS or a G47 from this page. The title does not name those two.
  • The dedicated VFC 20rd magazine for Glock 19 Gen5 had no inventory on 3 November 2026. Check that product page before you treat it as available.
  • The other VFC G19 20rd magazine says it suits G19 Gen3/Gen4. That is not a Gen5 MOS spare.

FAQ

G19 or G45 for a CQB sidearm?
G19 if the shorter slide is the point. G45 if you want that shorter slide with the longer grip the listing describes.
Does the G17 Gen5 / G45 magazine fit a G19 Gen5 MOS?
The 22rd listing does not name G19 Gen5. Use a magazine that names the G19 Gen5, or wait until that page shows stock.
