The G45 Gen5 MOS is a striker?fired semi?automatic pistol from Glock, chambered in 9mm Luger. It is often called a ?crossover? design because it pairs the compact slide and four?inch barrel of the Glock 19 with the full?size frame and grip of the Glock 17. This combination gives the shooter the agility and faster handling of a shorter slide while providing the stability, control, and standard seventeen?round magazine capacity of a full?size duty pistol.
The ?Gen5? designation means the pistol includes all of Glock?s fifth?generation improvements. These include the Glock Marksman Barrel with enhanced polygonal rifling for better accuracy, a durable nDLC finish on the slide and barrel for corrosion resistance, and an ambidextrous slide stop lever as well as a reversible magazine catch. The Gen5 frame also removes the finger grooves found on earlier models and adds a flared magazine well for faster reloads. A set of interchangeable backstraps allows the user to adjust the grip circumference to fit different hand sizes.
The ?MOS? stands for Modular Optic System. The slide is factory?machined to accept adapter plates, so popular miniature red?dot sights from brands like Trijicon, Leupold, or Holosun can be mounted directly without aftermarket milling. This makes the pistol ready for optics out of the box while still allowing the use of standard iron sights.
