The suppressor is large diameter, removable, and symbiotically tuned to the weapon?s gas system for reliable function and sound reduction. This required custom-length gas systems, proprietary bolt carriers, and abbreviated buffers that depart significantly from standard AR-15 architecture.
It is chambered in 5.56 NATO, .300 Blackout, and 7.62x39mm. The 5.56 version suffers substantial ballistic compromise?muzzle velocity approximates two thousand feet per second, yielding energy levels comparable to pistol calibers?which is why Maxim expanded the line to .300 Blackout and 7.62x39, both of which retain effective terminal performance and subsonic capability in ultra-short barrels.

The first encounter with this replica is a study in deliberate aesthetic and functional choice. The lower receiver, finished in a Matte Black, is cold metal under the fingertips, its surface meticulously engraved with the distinct "MDX" logo and the full "MAXIM DEFENSE INDUSTRIES" roll mark. The top plane of both the handguard and the receiver flow seamlessly into a continuous 20mm Picatinny rail, a stark, utilitarian skyline ready to accept the user?s chosen optic?whether a micro red dot for speed or a magnified scope for precision. Below the rail, mounted discreetly on the handguard?s underside, a metal hand stop provides a tactile index point, securing the grip and preventing the support hand from straying into the path of danger.
