About Real M16
The
M16 rifle, officially known as the Rifle, Caliber 5.56 mm, M16, is a
series of military rifles derived from the ArmaLite AR-15 rifle
specifically for use by the United States military. The original M16
rifle was an automatic rifle chambered in 5.56?45mm with a 20-round
magazine.
In 1964, the M16 was introduced into US military service and
subsequently deployed in jungle warfare operations during the Vietnam
War. The following year, the M16A1 replaced the M14 rifle as the
standard service rifle for the US military. The M16A1 incorporated
several modifications, including a bolt-assist, chrome-plated bore,
reinforced magazine release, and revised flash hider.
In 1983, the M16A2 rifle was adopted by the US Marine Corps, followed
by the US Army in 1986. The M16A2 featured improvements such as firing
the improved 5.56?45mm (M855/SS109) cartridge, an adjustable rear sight,
case deflector, heavy barrel, improved handguard, pistol grip,
buttstock, and a semi-auto and three-round burst fire selector. The
M16A4, introduced in July 1997, is the fourth generation of the M16
series and includes a removable carrying handle and Picatinny rail for
optics and accessories.
The M16 has been widely adopted by numerous armed forces worldwide
and holds the distinction of being the most-produced firearm of its
caliber, with approximately 8 million units manufactured. In frontline
combat units, the US military has largely replaced the M16 with the M4
carbine, a shorter and lighter variant.
In April 2022, the SIG MCX SPEAR, designated XM7, was selected by the
US Army as the winner of the Next Generation Squad Weapon Program to
replace the M16/M4.

The attention to detail continues with deep engraved Colt markings on the receiver and the 20-round gas magazine included with the rifle. Additionally, the receiver has an ED coating from the factory to closely replicate the original color.
