Product Description:
Real Steel Background
The Heckler & Koch MG4 is a belt-fed, gas-operated 5.56x45mm NATO light machine gun developed by H&K in the late 1990s and early 2000s as a complementary weapon to the 7.62mm MG3, filling the role of a squad automatic weapon in the lighter 5.56mm caliber. Officially adopted by the German Bundeswehr as the MG4 (Maschinengewehr 4), it entered service in the mid-2000s and has since seen deployment with German forces in Afghanistan and other operational theaters. The MG4 was designed from the outset as a belt-fed-only weapon, fed from disintegrating linked belts, and fires from the open bolt position to prevent cook-offs during sustained automatic fire. Its lightweight construction, folding stock, and integrated bipod make it highly portable for a squad-level support weapon, while its quick-change barrel allows the gunner to swap barrels in the field for sustained suppressive fire. The MG4 has also been adopted by several other nations and was selected as the base platform for the MG5 (MG4 A1) program. Its combination of portability, reliability, and belt-fed firepower has made it a favored light machine gun among NATO-aligned forces seeking a modern 5.56mm SAW alternative to the FN Minimi.
Product Details
Manufactured under official Umarex H&K licensing and engineered by VFC, the MG4 LMG brings the real steel MG4 to the airsoft field as a high-quality automatic electric gun (AEG). The rifle is built around a metal receiver engraved with "HK MG4" markings, topped by a metal top cover that features an integrated Picatinny rail for optics mounting. The 370mm metal outer barrel is fitted with a 55mm muzzle brake, while the polymer 175mm handguard provides a lightweight grip surface. A metal six-slot Picatinny rail measuring 65mm is mounted on both the left and right sides at the front of the handguard, offering modular accessory attachment points. A metal bipod is integrated beneath the handguard, featuring three-position height adjustability from 235mm to 275mm, and can be folded upward for storage when not in use.
The polymer lower receiver grip and polymer 205mm stock provide comfortable ergonomics, with the stock featuring a metal stock pad, metal rear support strut, and a metal foldable mechanism for compact transport. The rifle is fed by a configurable internal magazine holding approximately 900 rounds, and the package includes a high-capacity ammo can holding up to 4,000 rounds. The ammo can functions as a battery-less auto-winding drum magazine, connecting directly to the main battery for effortless, continuous feeding without the need for a separate wind-up battery.
A full suite of metal and polymer small parts completes the package: a polymer trigger, polymer ambidextrous fire selector, fully adjustable removable metal flip-up front and rear sights, and a metal charging handle located on the right side of the receiver that can be folded when not in use. The ambidextrous safety selector offers safe and full-auto fire modes, with a fire rate of approximately 18 rounds per second. The gearbox features a quick-change spring system for easy power adjustment, and a digital fuse provides electronic protection for the internal circuitry. The rifle is compatible with 7.4V or 11.1V Li-Po batteries with a Deans (T-Plug) connection found at the folding stock ? however, an 11.1V Li-Po battery larger than 1200mAh should not be used, as it risks damaging the internals.
