Umarex (Elite Force) and Glock have been collaborating for several years to release licensed airsoft Glock models from different generations. VFC has primarily manufactured the various replica models, while GHK has introduced the premium steel GHK Glock 17 Gen 3. However, one common feature that has been missing from these airsoft replicas is the ability to mount optics, despite Glock introducing the MOS (Modular Optics System) back in 2015 for their real steel firearms. The MOS allows shooters to install a variety of optics with different footprints.
Fortunately, Umarex (Elite Force) has partnered with SRC to address this demand by creating the Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS, which is arguably one of the most popular and newest models to receive the MOS treatment in the airsoft market. Apart from its notable MOS feature, this particular airsoft pistol, the Umarex (Elite Force) Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS GBB Airsoft Pistol (by SRC), is also dual power ready out of the box. This means that regardless of whether you choose the green gas variant or the CO2 variant, you can easily switch between green gas and CO2 by using the corresponding magazines. It's a plug-and-play process. SRC has indicated that using green gas will result in an average FPS output of 290 FPS, while CO2 can achieve an average of 310 FPS.
The airsoft Glock 17 Gen 5 replica is designed to replicate the MOS model, and just like its real steel counterpart, it is optics-ready out of the box. It comes with four different optics plates that can accommodate popular red dots with their respective footprints, allowing users to mount almost any red dot optic of their choice. Externally, the airsoft version faithfully replicates the same features as the real firearm. The pistol operates on regular green gas and delivers a crisp and fast cycle. Furthermore, as a licensed product by Umarex (Elite Force) and Glock, it is compatible with many other accessories designed for Glocks, such as weapon lights and holsters.
