About Real Gun
The S&W M40 revolver refers to the S&W M40 revolver. S&W is a renowned American firearms manufacturer, and the M40 is a compact, double-action revolver that was first introduced in the 1950s. It is commonly known as the "Centennial" because it was released to commemorate the 100th anniversary of S&W founding in 1852.
The S&W M40 is chambered for .38 Special ammunition and typically has a 5-shot cylinder. It features a small frame and a snub-nose barrel, making it a popular choice for concealed carry or as a backup weapon for law enforcement officers. The revolver is typically made of steel and has a solid construction, ensuring durability and reliability.
Over the years, S&W has introduced various variants of the M40, including different finishes, grips, and sights. It has gained a reputation for its simplicity, ease of use, and compactness, making it a popular choice among those seeking a reliable and easily concealable revolver for self-defense purposes.

About Tanaka Model Gun
The Tanaka S&W M40 Centennial is a uniquely patterned revolver.  The revolver is exceptionally detailed and exudes a classic charm.  The brown faux wood panels on the grip beautifully accent the jet black finish on the pistol and its short form factor reminds you of all the detective movies one would watch from the 70s or 80s!  Probably its most striking feature is its grip safety the missing physical hammer!
Tanaka has truly crafted a gem that, at first glance, looks as if it is a metal gun.  However, this detailed finish can easily deceive even the keen-eyed among us, as the revolver is made of high-quality ABS plastic.  Do not be fooled, though plastic, nothing about his M40 can be considered "cheap" as it carries a fair amount of weight and when paired with an assortment of metal parts, it certainly feels as if it's a metal gun.  Metal parts such as the trigger and cylinder give the pistol a real-life-like aesthetic making it not only a great choice for collectors but it can even be used in film or cosplay as a prop!
The operation of this model gun is a joy as the double action is smooth and direct, pulling the trigger slowly feels buttery with no "grit" feeling at all.  Probably being one of the most unique revolvers, there is no physical hammer but features a grip safety, making the shooting experience almost 1911-like!  The trigger breaks nicely and its reset is crisp and very positive, leading to the sound of the cylinder rotating readying the pistol for the next shot.  This exemplifies the effort Tanaka put in to make this revolver stand out.
Please note that this is a non-firing model gun.
