The MK23, also known as the Heckler & Koch Mark 23 or MK23 MOD 0, is a semi-automatic large-frame pistol chambered in .45 ACP, designed as an "offensive handgun" for elite U.S. military special operations units  . Developed by German firearms manufacturer Heckler & Koch in response to a 1989 request from the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) , it was adopted in 1996 as the first new .45 ACP pistol issued to U.S. forces since the M1911A1. This airsoft gun also includes fine metal accents, such as a metal slide catch, steel decocking lever, ambidextrous metal safety, ambidextrous metal magazine release, metal trigger, metal hammer, metal white dot & Rear front sight. Internally, it incorporates a decocking system and double action system.
In airsoft, a decocking system safely lowers the hammer without firing, while a double action system lets the trigger both cock and release the hammer in one pull.
