About Real CZ 75 Pistol

The CZ 75 is a semi-automatic pistol made by Ceska zbrojovka in the Czech Republic. Introduced in 1975, it's a renowned "wonder nine" for its innovative design, high capacity, and all-steel build, influencing many modern handguns. Designed by Frantisek and Josef Koucky for export, it used 9x19mm Parabellum and was adopted by the Czech military post-1989.
It features a short-recoil, locked-breech system with a Browning tilting-barrel mechanism. Its slide-inside-frame rail lowers the bore axis, reducing muzzle flip and boosting accuracy. The double-action/single-action trigger has a smooth 8-10 pound double-action pull and a crisp 4-5 pound single-action reset. Early models had a manual safety; later ones offer a decocker. The ergonomic grip, ambidextrous controls, and oversized trigger guard suit various users. It has fixed three-dot sights, a cold-hammer-forged barrel, and a firing pin block on "B" models. Mostly steel, it weighs 35 ounces, with some alloy-framed variants.
Unprotected patents led to copies like the Jericho 941 and Tanfoglio TZ-75. The CZ 75B, the modern standard, holds 16+1 rounds, measures 8.1 inches long with a 4.6-inch barrel, and is effective up to 50 meters. Variants include the Compact, P-01, SP-01, Shadow 2, and rare full-auto CZ 75 Automatic. In 2025, CZ marks its 50th anniversary with special engravings.
Initially limited by high costs, production grew in the 1980s. It gained fame in IPSC competitions, with Jeff Cooper calling it the best 9mm service pistol. Used by over 30 governments, it's popular for sport and self-defense. Accurate and reliable, it shoots sub-2-inch groups at 25 yards but is heavier than polymer pistols. It appears in media like Counter-Strike 2. Check local laws for purchase via dealers like CZ-USA.
