About Real M79 Grenade Launcher

The M79 grenade launcher is a single-shot, shoulder-fired weapon that fires 40mm grenades. Developed in the U.S. in the late 1950s, it entered service in 1961 and became iconic during the Vietnam War. Although it was eventually replaced by the M203 grenade launcher, which could be mounted under an M16 rifle, the M79 remains in limited use today, particularly in special operations and law enforcement.
