About Real AKM
The AKM, which stands for "Avtomat Kalashnikova modernizirovanny" (??????? ??????????? ?????????????????) in Russian, translates to "Kalashnikov's Automatic Rifle Modernised." This assault rifle was designed by Soviet arms designer Mikhail Kalashnikov in 1959, serving as the successor to the previously adopted AK-47.
After its introduction, the AKM became the most widely used variant of the Kalashnikov rifles within the Warsaw Pact countries. It entered service with the Soviet Army in 1959 and was manufactured at the Tula Arms Plant and Izhmash factories in Russia. In 1974, it was eventually replaced by the AK-74.
While the AKM retained the wood stock of the AK-47, it featured simplified individual parts that were more conducive to mass production. Similar to the AK-47, the AKM has spawned various variants, including the AKMS, AKML, and AKMP.
