The HK416A5 is an improved, modern variant of the HK416 assault rifle.
The original HK416 (introduced in the mid-2000s) is a highly regarded 5.56?45mm NATO assault rifle that uses a short-stroke gas piston operating system ? unlike the direct impingement system found in standard AR-15/M4 platforms. This design runs cleaner, with less carbon fouling, better reliability under adverse conditions (dust, mud, suppressed fire), and reduced wear on internal components.
The A5 version represents Heckler & Koch's product-improved evolution of the HK416 platform, incorporating user feedback, lessons from military/special forces use, and refinements seen during programs like the U.S. Army's Individual Carbine competition.

About E&C 416A5 Airsoft AEG Rifle (EC111 QC 2.0 Gearbox)

E&C has faithfully replicated this AEG Airsoft version of the rifle. In the realm of real firearms, this model was manufactured and introduced to the market in 2016 as a modern firearm. It remains in mass production today and can be seen in use across numerous countries around the world, including France, the United States, Norway, Ukraine, Jordan, South Korea, Portugal, and Italy, where both the military and special forces employ this weapon.
This E&C 416A5 Airsoft AEG Rifle features a metal receiver with a Picatinny rail on top, a metal 240mm Picatinny rail system RIS handguard, a metal 260mm outer barrel, a metal 44mm muzzle brake, a polymer pistol grip, and a polymer HK416A5 SlimLine stock with a 6-position metal stock pipe. It is equipped with a steel housing magazine with a 300-round capacity. The rifle also includes numerous small metal components such as a metal trigger, metal trigger guard, metal ambidextrous magazine release, metal ambidextrous fire selector, metal ambidextrous bolt catch, metal charging handle, a metal built-in flip-up front sight, and a metal removable/adjustable HK417A5 rear sight. At the rear, there is a metal sling hook, along with a metal dummy gas block and gas tube.
Internally, it is powered by the new E&C 2.0 V2 8mm bearing gearbox, featuring a quick-change spring variant that allows for convenient spring changes to meet field requirements.
