More compact than the M16, it was designed for rapid movement in jungle combat, and its extended muzzle brake significantly reduced muzzle flash in its real-steel counterpart, making it easier to conceal in forest environments. As an experimental model, only 510 units were ever produced, rendering the original extremely rare and historically valuable. Recognizing this unique legacy, CYMA has recreated this piece of firearms history with its replica of the XM177E2 COLT M649.
This Cybergun-licensed XM177E2 COLT M649 Gas Blowback Airsoft Rifle utilizes the CGS system and features a metal lower receiver with authentic "COLT AR-15" engraving, a metal upper receiver with a built-in carry handle and rear sight, and a metal 265mm outer barrel fitted with a steel 118mm muzzle brake. The construction continues with a polymer 185mm handguard capped with metal, a polymer pistol grip, and a polymer stock attached via a metal two-position stock tube. It comes with a steel gas magazine that has a 20-round capacity. Numerous other metal components enhance its realism and durability, including the steel trigger, metal trigger guard, metal charging handle, steel sling loop, steel bolt catch, steel front sight, metal magazine release, and steel dust cover.
