Product Description:
About Real M16A2 COLT M723
The Colt Model 723 is a transitional military carbine developed in the mid-1980s, most famously used by U.S. Army Delta Force and featured in the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu. It bridged the gap between the Vietnam-era CAR-15 and the later M4 carbine.
Its significance stems from its role with special operations units during the late Cold War and early 1990s. The carbine used by Medal of Honor recipient MSG Gary Gordon in Somalia, often called the "Gordon Carbine," was a customized Model 723 with an early red dot, a weapon light, and a suppressor.
Technically, it was a hybrid design. It typically featured a 14.5-inch barrel and a collapsible stock. It often combined an upper receiver with an M16A1-style carry handle and brass deflector with a lower receiver marked "M16A2". This mix of features and its special operations pedigree make it a direct predecessor to the modern M4.
About Cybergun M16A2 COLT M723 Carbine 14.5 inch GBB Airsoft Rifle (CGS System)
CYMA has launched this classic rifle under Cybergun license. Originally an American firearm produced in the 1980s, it is a successor to the M16A1 and stands as one of the United States' most successfully mass-produced rifles. Issued not only to special forces but also exported to various Middle Eastern countries, its historical significance inspired CYMA to produce this replica: the M16A2 COLT M723 Carbine rifle?a model that marks an important milestone in firearms history.
This Cybergun M16A2 COLT M723 Carbine 14.5-inch GBB Airsoft Rifle (CGS System) is built with a metal lower receiver featuring deeply engraved "M16A2 COLT" markings, along with a metal upper receiver that incorporates a carrying handle and an integrated rear sight. It is equipped with a metal 350mm outer barrel, a steel 45mm muzzle brake, a polymer 185mm handguard capped with metal, a polymer pistol grip, and a polymer stock mounted on a metal two-position stock tube. The rifle also comes with a steel 30-round gas magazine. Additional metal components include the steel trigger and metal trigger guard, metal charging handle, steel sling loop, steel bolt catch, steel front sight, metal magazine release, and steel dust cover.
Internally, the airsoft rifle operates on the CGS system, a gas blowback design replicated from the Tokyo Marui MWS system, which it closely matches in performance. This compatibility allows the use of MWS internal upgrade parts. The rifle offers stable operation and high accuracy, representing strong value within its category.
As a faithful recreation of a classic firearm, this replica is an excellent choice for collectors and is equally capable for use in wargames and airsoft competitions.
