About Real M16A2 COLT

The M16A2 is a 5.56mm selective-fire rifle with a 20-inch barrel that served as the U.S. military's primary service arm from the 1980s. Adopted by the Marine Corps in the early 1980s and the Army in 1986, it was developed as a more robust and accurate evolution of the Vietnam-era M16A1.
Its most significant mechanical change was replacing fully automatic fire with a three-round burst to conserve ammunition. It also introduced a heavier barrel with a 1:7 rifling twist to stabilize new NATO ammunition, and a fully adjustable rear sight. Ergonomically, it featured stronger round handguards and a spent case deflector, making it left-hand shooter friendly.
While largely replaced by the M4 carbine, it remains in service with some U.S. branches and served as the basis for the flat-top M16A4.

It is equipped with a metal 485mm outer barrel fitted with a 45mm muzzle brake, a polymer 320mm handguard, a polymer pistol grip, and a polymer 270mm fixed stock. The rifle includes a steel housing magazine with a 30-round loading capacity, complemented by numerous small metal components such as a metal trigger and trigger guard, a metal magazine release, a metal forward assist, a metal dust cover, a metal fire selector, a steel bolt catch, a steel front sight, and two steel sling hooks.
Internally, the airsoft rifle boasts a Quick Release Hop-Up Chamber, a Full Steel Trigger Box and its components, as well as a Lightning Series CNC Aluminum Bolt Carrier. Powered by gas, it utilizes the CGS System, which is a replica of the Tokyo Marui MWS System, ensuring that internal parts are interchangeable.
