About Colt M733 Commando

The Colt M733 Commando is a compact 5.56mm carbine from the 1980s, designed for special forces and close-quarters combat. It is essentially a shortened M16 with an 11.5-inch barrel, making it lightweight and highly maneuverable for vehicle crews, paratroopers, and room-clearing operations.
Its design was a hybrid, mixing parts from the older M16A1 and newer M16A2 models. While prized for its size, the short barrel produced a very loud blast, significant muzzle flash, and reduced bullet velocity compared to full-length rifles.
It is most famous for its use by U.S. Delta Force operators during the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu, an event depicted in the film Black Hawk Down. It also appeared in the movie Heat. The M733 was later succeeded by more modern carbines like the M4A1.

This model is notable for its hybrid design, combining elements of the M16A1 and M16A2. Its compact size made it ideal for close-quarters combat, leading to its primary adoption by specialized units like Delta Force rather than standard infantry, who typically used longer rifles for open-field engagements. Serving as a transitional design, it was only produced for a few years before being succeeded by the M4 rifle in 1990. Recognizing its unique historical role, CYMA has produced this faithful commemorative replica of the COLT M733 Commando rifle.
This Cybergun-licensed COLT M733 Commando GBB airsoft rifle features a metal lower receiver with authentic "COLT M16A2" engravings and a metal upper receiver with an integrated carry handle and rear sight. It is equipped with a 270mm metal outer barrel, a steel 45mm muzzle brake, a polymer handguard with a metal cap, a polymer pistol grip, and a polymer stock on a metal adjustable tube. Additional realistic metal components include the trigger, trigger guard, charging handle, sling loop, bolt catch, front sight, magazine release, dust cover, and forward assist. It comes with a steel 30-round gas-powered magazine.
Internally, it uses the CGS system, a gas blowback platform that closely replicates the Tokyo Marui MWS system, offering stable performance, high accuracy, and compatibility with many MWS upgrade parts. This combination of historical authenticity, solid construction, and reliable performance makes this airsoft rifle both an excellent piece for collectors and a highly capable choice for wargames and airsoft competitions.
