Both the upper and lower receivers are constructed using full aluminum die-cast materials, providing a realistic weight and feel that mirrors the exact frame thickness of the actual M4A1 Carbine. The buffer tube is fully machined from aluminum and closely matches real steel specifications. To improve grip, Marui has chosen reinforced resin as the material for the pistol grip, the same robust compound used in latest models such as the P320 and SSG553+, and it has been left unpainted to match the real steel finish.

At the heart of the EVOLT system lies the M-SYSTEM Type II split gearbox, an evolution from the Next Generation MP5 series that refines reliability, realism, and exceptional performance down to the most minute capabilities. The new V7.0 chip incorporates six sensors that not only ensure perfect rifle performance but can also detect potential malfunctions and automatically override operation to stop the gun if a failure is detected. Unlike other AEG models that share common gearbox designs across different platforms, the EVOLT series introduces a dedicated gearbox that is highly innovative, with the cylinder fully integrated and captured within the upper receiver. Particular attention has been paid to keeping the aesthetics clean and sleek, with almost no protruding elements after takedown. As a first for Tokyo Marui M4 rifles, an ambidextrous selector has been adopted, and considerable engineering has gone into ensuring smooth operation with tactile clicks when flipping the switch.

A stabilizer nozzle has been designed to maintain constant tension during firing. With previous designs, tension was contingent on the spring inside the magazine, which would change depending on how many BBs remained in the channel, affecting accuracy. The new nozzle design guarantees that every shot remains perfectly consistent. Complementing this is the newly developed EG-1000 BR motor, featuring a bearing reversed configuration that provides an ultra-crisp response and blazing fast cyclic rate. Its high torque and fast revolution allow the EVOLT system to truly shine and are considered essential to the EVOLT concept.

The rifle includes an 11.5-inch outer barrel extension alongside the standard 14.5-inch configuration, giving users the flexibility to adjust overall length from 660mm to 858mm depending on their preference. The new 81-round EVOLT AR magazine features a steel-pressed outer shell and introduces a "one-by-one loading system" that closes a shutter inside the magazine every time a BB is sent to the chamber, preventing the next BB from being fed until after firing. This innovative design ensures no spillage, no clogging, and no functional issues, setting it apart from standard AEG magazines.

Powering the EVOLT M4 is a proprietary MS Li-Po stick-type battery rated at 7.4V and 800mAh. Unlike the varied and often flawed power solutions of the past, from simple 8.4V NiMH packs to cordless SOPMOD batteries that sometimes allowed cables to interfere with the experience, this high-performance battery fits snugly into the buffer tube and is exclusive to the EVOLT series. Its new safety system prevents fire accidents, a common defect plaguing regular Li-Po batteries. The battery will be sold either as a standalone unit or as part of a starter kit complete with charger and power cable.

The EVOLT M4A1 Carbine offers both full auto and semi-auto fire modes, along with an auto round-cut off function that stops operation when the magazine is empty. Weighing 2,700 grams with a 229mm barrel length, the rifle is built for those who value performance, innovation, and the power of perfect detail.
