Product Description:

Real Steel Background

The M4 carbine traces its lineage directly to Eugene Stoner's AR-15 design and the M16 rifle family that armed American forces through the Vietnam War era. As the US military sought a shorter, handier personal defense weapon for vehicle crews, airborne units, and special operations personnel, Colt developed the Model 720 as a compact derivative of the M16A2, shortening the barrel to 14.5 inches and adding a telescoping stock. The XM4 prototypes were delivered for testing in 1986, and after several years of refinement the US Department of Defense officially adopted the design in 1994 as the M4 carbine, with the M4A1 following the same year. The M4A1 marked a pivotal shift: its flat-top upper receiver replaced the fixed carry handle with an integral MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail, enabling the modular attachment of optics, lasers, and other aiming devices, while its trigger group offered full-automatic fire instead of the M4's three-round burst. This evolution was driven by the US Special Operations Command's SOPMOD (Special Operations Peculiar Modification) program, which standardized a kit of rail interface systems, optical sights, vertical grips, suppressors, and other accessories around the carbine. The M4/M4A1 shares roughly 80 percent parts commonality with the M16A2, feeding from standard 5.56x45mm NATO STANAG magazines, and its gas-operated, rotating-bolt action delivers a cyclic rate of 700 to 950 rounds per minute. Deployed extensively in Afghanistan and Iraq, the M4A1 became the primary fighting rifle of US Army and Marine Corps infantry by 2015 and remains in service with special operations forces including Navy SEALs, Delta Force, and Army Rangers, as well as militaries and law enforcement agencies across dozens of nations worldwide.

Product Details

The Novritsch SSQ4 is a pre-upgraded M4 platform designed by airsoft players in Vienna, Austria, and built to deliver the most real-steel-like shooting experience in the Novritsch arsenal through a distinctive two-tone deep bronze and black aesthetic. This Standard Semi & Full Auto HPA variant is finished throughout in a striking deep bronze colorway: the CNC metal upper receiver carries a full-length Picatinny rail along its top, while the matching metal lower receiver bears the engraved "NOVRITSCH SSQ4" marking and houses the complete fire control group. The bronze theme extends to the 250mm SSQ4 M-LOK handguard, which provides a Picatinny rail on top plus M-LOK slotting for accessory mounting and features sling sockets on both sides, and to the 255mm outer barrel, which is capped with a 50mm muzzle brake for an aggressive, competition-inspired profile. The stock is a polymer black SSQ4 unit mounted on a metal six-position stock pipe, offering the familiar M4-style length adjustment with sling sockets positioned at both the front and rear of the stock on either side, while the polymer black pistol grip accepts the HPA air line at its base and features an ergonomic beaver-tail design. Power is delivered through the integrated HPA module, making the rifle a high-pressure air platform fed by an external tank and regulator through a line that exits cleanly from the grip, and the polymer black 32-round mid-capacity HPA magazine provides a realistic, compact feed system.

Internally, the SSQ4 is engineered for performance and efficiency. Its signature half-bolt design reduces reciprocating mass and travel time, delivering snappy, energetic blowback action while improving gas efficiency over a full-length bolt; this also eliminates the need for a buffer tube and leaves the rifle ready for a Picatinny folding stock adapter. Power output is adjustable through an integrated NPAS valve system, allowing muzzle energy to be tuned from approximately 1J up to 2.5J in under a minute with the included Allen key, and the rifle is tuned for an impressive sustained fire rate of 20 rounds per second. The hop-up is a tool-less TDC system with click-based adjustment positioned on the top of the receiver between the upper and the handguard, enabling rapid fine-tuning of trajectory without disassembly. Accuracy is supported by a Maple Leaf 60-degree bucking selected specifically for heavy BBs, delivering consistent grip and stable flight with premium ammunition. Durability comes from a full suite of steel controls and a steel trigger box assembly, encompassing a steel ambidextrous fire selector, steel ambidextrous magazine release, steel ambidextrous bolt catch, and a metal flat-style trigger with trigger guard, complemented by a steel forward assist, metal ambidextrous charging handle, steel dust cover, metal bolt carrier, and a metal sling swivel mounted at the rear of the receiver. Every control is present on both sides of the rifle, making the SSQ4 completely ambidextrous for left-handed shooters and for switching shoulders in the field.
