Its design was heavily influenced by the requirements of special operations forces who needed a firearm that could deliver rifle-level power while remaining exceptionally small and easy to maneuver, particularly when used with a suppressor. This ultra-compact nature is one of its most defining characteristics, achieved through different barrel lengths depending on the caliber. For instance, the model chambered in 300 Blackout features a 6.75-inch barrel and has an overall length of just 24.75 inches in its pistol configuration with a brace, weighing approximately 5.1 to 5.8 pounds. The 5.56 NATO variant uses a 7.75-inch barrel and weighs between 5.5 and 6.2 pounds, while the 7.62x39mm model also has a 7.75-inch barrel and weighs 5.1 to 5.5 pounds, with magazine capacities varying accordingly. The "LT" designation marks a major upgrade in the platform's modularity, with its most significant improvement being full compatibility with all MCX-SPEAR LT barrels and handguards. This feature allows the user to easily swap components to change calibers or barrel lengths, transforming the Rattler LT into an incredibly versatile single-platform system. The firearm is built with fully ambidextrous controls, including the bolt-catch, bolt-release, and charging handle, ensuring ease of use for both left- and right-handed shooters.

In the realm of real firearms, this model was introduced in 2023 and stands as the latest rifle of its kind, primarily used by the U.S. Army Special Forces, specifically the Green Berets. This APFG MCX RATTLER LT GBB Airsoft Rifle (Stock Not Included) features a 150mm M Lok system handguard, a metal lower receiver with engraved realistic markings, a CNC aluminum receiver equipped with a 20mm Picatinny rail on top, a metal 160mm outer barrel with a steel 55mm 3-prong flash hider and a dummy gas block, a polymer non-slip textured grip, and a metal 30-round capacity STANG Style M4 magazine. This version does not include a stock; instead, the rear of the rifle is fitted with a Picatinny rail, allowing you to install a stock of your choice. The rifle also includes numerous small metal components such as an ambidextrous fire selector, an ambidextrous bolt catch, an ambidextrous magazine release, an ambidextrous sling socket located at the rear of the rifle, a metal dust cover, a metal bolt, and a metal charging handle.
