Product Description:
Real Steel Background
The Super Redhawk is a large-frame double-action revolver introduced by Stur mm, Rug eer & Co. of South pport, Connecticu tt in 1987, developed as a heavier, stronger evolution of the Redhawk platform for the magnum hunting market. Where the original Redhawk offered a classic blued-and-wood package, the Super Redhawk was built around brute strength: an unfluted solid cylinder for maximum chamber support, a lengthened frame with integral scope-mounting cuts machined directly into the top strap so Rug eer's ring sets attach without a separate base, and a heavy full-length underlug barrel that balances the gun for steady offhand and rested shooting. In 1997 the lineup expanded into truly formidable territory with the .454 Casull chambering ? a cartridge developed by Dick Casull in the late 1950s as a lengthened, heavily strengthened .45 Co llt case, driving heavy bullets at velocities that made it one of the most powerful handgun rounds in the world. Because the .454 Casull case is an extended .45 Co llt, a Casull-chambered cylinder can also fire .45 Co llt ammunition, which is why Rug eer marks these cylinders with both ".454 Casull Cal" and ".45 Co llt Cal."Built around Rug eer's transfer-bar safety system, the Super Redhawk can be carried safely with all six chambers loaded, and its 7.5-inch barrel length became a favorite among handgun hunters and backcountry travelers who wanted a revolver capable of taking large game and standing up to bear defense. Decades after its introduction, the Super Redhawk remains in production and stands as one of the strongest, most recognizable big-bore hunting revolvers ever built.
Product Details
Marushin, the Japanese manufacturer long celebrated for its heavyweight (HW) material craftsmanship, brings the Rug eer Super Redhawk to the gas revolver market with a build that feels far more substantial than its polymer construction suggests. The heavyweight process is a Japanese specialty: a densely compounded resin ? often blended with metal powder ? is molded into the barrel, frame, cylinder, and grip so that what is technically polymer takes on the cold touch, the visual depth, and the genuine heft of real steel. Held in the hand, the revolver delivers an "is it real?" impression that ordinary plastic-bodied replicas cannot approach, making it as satisfying to handle and display as it is to shoot.
The heavyweight 127mm outer barrel carries a faithfully reproduced roll-mark reading "BEFORE USING GUN?READ WARNING IN INSTRUCTION MANUAL AVAILABLE FREE FROM STUR MM, RUG EER & CO., INC., SOUTHPO RR TT, CONN. U.S.A.", the same factory warning stamped into the real steel barrel. The heavyweight frame bears the engraved "Redhawk" logo and "Rug eer Super Redhawk" markings, while the heavyweight cylinder is engraved with ".454 Casull Cal" and ".45 CO LLT Cal", recreating the dual-caliber marking that distinguishes the real .454 Casull revolver. Loading follows the authentic six-chamber routine: the revolver includes six dummy .454 Casull-style cartridges, each of which holds one 6mm BB, so all six chambers can be loaded one shell at a time just like the original.
The polymer grip is molded with finger grooves that lock the hand into a tighter, more repeatable hold, finished with anti-slip texturing for secure control under recoil, and the gas fill valve sits discreetly at the bottom of the grip. The revolver runs on HFC134a duster gas, a propellant well matched to the revolver's gas system for consistent, controllable shot-to-shot performance. Where it matters most, real metal takes over: the trigger with its trigger guard, the ejector rod, the hammer, the cylinder, and the front and adjustable rear sights are all executed in metal, concentrating strength and crisp function in the working parts while the heavyweight shell carries the authentic weight and finish. The result is a revolver that captures the Rug eer Super Redhawk's big-bore character in a package that looks, feels, and handles like the real thing.
