Product Description:

Real Steel Background

The MCX-SURG exists because of a very specific problem. United States Special Operations Command had thousands of M4A1 carbines in service and wanted them to fire suppressed, but converting a whole fleet of rifles is slow, expensive, and logistically painful. The answer was the Suppressed Upper Receiver Group programme: build a complete suppressed upper that drops onto an existing M4A1 lower, so an operator can turn a standard carbine into a quiet, hard-hitting weapon by swapping the top half rather than replacing the gun. SII G Sau ueer won that programme with the MCX-SURG, and the design is a neat piece of engineering: a piston-driven upper in .300 AAC Blackout with a short barrel and an integrally suppressed gas system, mated to an adapter that lets it sit on a standard AR-pattern lower without the buffer tube the AR's direct impingement system would normally need.

The .300 Blackout chambering is the key to the whole concept. The cartridge was designed to deliver heavy, subsonic bullets from a short barrel while sharing the 5.56 bolt face and magazine, which makes it the natural choice for a carbine that has to be genuinely quiet and still hit hard inside a couple of hundred metres. Because the MCX uses a short-stroke gas piston rather than gas blown back into the receiver, it runs clean and suppressed without the fouling that plagues suppressed direct impingement guns.

The most recognisable feature of the SII G suppressor is its outer shroud. Suppressors get extremely hot extremely fast, and an exposed hot tube is a burn hazard to the shooter's hand, leg, and gear. SII G wrapped the tube in a skeletonised outer shell ? a lattice of hexagonal openings that holds the hot surface away from contact while letting heat escape and cutting the shimmer that heat produces in front of the optic. The handguard extends forward to cover the rear of the suppressor, so the whole front end reads as one continuous, purposeful block. The result is a rifle that looks unlike anything else in the safe, and that looks that way for reasons that are entirely functional.

Product Details

APFG reproduces the MCX-SURG as a gas blowback rifle built around 6061 aluminium where the real gun uses aluminium, with the tan and black two-tone that the SURG configuration is known for. The upper group, handguard, barrel, suppressor, and stock adapter are all 6061 aluminium in tan, while the lower receiver is 6061 aluminium in black with realistic engraved markings ? the same contrast the real SURG upper produces when it is dropped onto a service lower.

The front end is the heart of the gun. A 6061 aluminium 255mm SURG-style handguard in tan carries sling sockets on both sides at its rear, giving left- and right-handed shooters a hard point without adding hardware. Inside it sits a 6061 aluminium 230mm outer barrel in tan, and at the muzzle a 6061 aluminium 184mm SURG-style suppressor with a 64mm diameter, threaded 14mm CCW. That suppressor is not a plain tube: it wears the skeletonised hexagonal outer shell of the real SII G design, a lattice of openings standing off the hot body ? the feature that, on the real firearm, protects the shooter from burns and lets the heat escape. Because it is 14mm CCW threaded, it can be removed and replaced with a tracer unit or a different muzzle device if the user prefers.

The upper receiver is 6061 aluminium in tan with a Picatinny rail along the top, cut in the SURG pattern so the handguard flows into the receiver without a visible step. The lower receiver is 6061 aluminium in black with realistic engraved markings. At the rear, a tan 6061 aluminium brace stock adapter carries its own Picatinny rail, onto which the stock mounts ? and because that interface is Picatinny, the stock is not limited to the one supplied. The stock itself is a polymer black SII G Sau ueer-style MCX/MPX telescoping stock with a retractable metal stock pipe, a steel folding stock adapter, and sling sockets on both sides, so the rifle can be collapsed for transport, extended for a proper cheek weld, and carried from either shoulder. The pistol grip is polymer in black.

The control set is metal and steel throughout: a steel ambidextrous fire selector, a steel bolt catch, a metal magazine release, a steel curved trigger inside a metal trigger guard, a metal ambidextrous charging handle in tan, a steel forward assist and a steel dust cover both finished in Dark Earth. Feeding comes from a metal-housed magazine holding 30 rounds.

Internally, the rifle is built on VFC V3 components and an M4 V3 valve knocker and hammer set, with a realistic M4/AR-pattern fire control group assembly and a durable zinc-alloy MCX bolt carrier group reinforced with steel. Hop-up is handled by a quick adjust hop-up system that is adjustable at the gas block, so the shooter can tune trajectory without stripping the front end.

Key Features

  • Faithful gas blowback replica of the SII G Sau ueer MCX-SURG, the suppressed upper receiver group developed for USSOCOM to convert existing M4A1 carbines into suppressed weapons
  • 6061 aluminium construction across the handguard, barrel, suppressor, upper receiver, and stock adapter, giving the rigidity, finish quality, and weight of a properly machined airsoft rifle
  • Two-tone tan and black finish matching the real SURG configuration, where a tan upper group sits on a black service lower
  • 6061 aluminium 255mm tan SURG-style handguard flowing into the receiver without a visible step, delivering the continuous front end that defines the SURG silhouette
  • Sling sockets on both sides at the rear of the handguard, giving left- and right-handed shooters a hard point for sling carry
  • 6061 aluminium 230mm tan outer barrel providing the correct short-barrel proportions of the suppressed configuration
  • 6061 aluminium 184mm SURG-style suppressor with a 64mm diameter, reproducing the signature front end of the real weapon
  • Skeletonised hexagonal outer shell on the suppressor, reproducing the real design's protective lattice that stands the hot body away from contact and lets heat escape
  • 14mm CCW thread on the suppressor, allowing it to be swapped for a tracer unit or alternative muzzle device as required
  • 6061 aluminium tan SURG-style upper receiver with a Picatinny rail along the top, providing a continuous mounting surface for optics and accessories
  • 6061 aluminium black lower receiver engraved with realistic markings, matching the contrast of a real SURG upper mounted on a service lower
  • 6061 aluminium tan brace stock adapter carrying its own Picatinny rail, so the stock mounts on a universal interface rather than a proprietary one
  • Polymer black SII G Sau ueer-style MCX/MPX telescoping stock with a retractable metal stock pipe, allowing the length of pull to be collapsed or extended to suit the shooter and the loadout
  • Steel folding stock adapter letting the stock fold for compact transport and storage without removing it
  • Sling sockets on both sides of the stock, giving flexible single- or two-point sling carry from either shoulder
  • Polymer black pistol grip giving a comfortable and secure hold consistent with the original furniture
  • Metal-housed 30-round magazine delivering a useful capacity with a durable metal shell
  • Steel ambidextrous fire selector allowing safe, semi, and automatic control to be operated confidently from either side of the receiver
  • Steel bolt catch providing realistic hold-open and release function through repeated cycling
  • Metal magazine release giving positive control during fast magazine changes
  • Steel curved trigger housed in a metal trigger guard, delivering a crisp and positive pull through the firing cycle
  • Metal tan ambidextrous charging handle that can be worked from either side, supporting flexible weapon manipulation
  • Steel Dark Earth forward assist completing the upper receiver detailing with durable steel construction
  • Steel Dark Earth dust cover closing off the ejection port with the strength and finish of steel
  • Quick adjust hop-up system adjustable at the gas block, allowing trajectory to be tuned without stripping the front end
  • Realistic M4/AR-pattern fire control group assembly delivering authentic trigger function and a familiar feel
  • Durable zinc-alloy MCX bolt carrier group with steel reinforcement, built to survive sustained gas blowback cycling
  • VFC V3 components with an M4 V3 valve knocker and hammer set, giving the internals proven compatibility and reliable gas efficiency
