Product Description:

Real Steel Background

The SVD ? Snaiperskaya Vintovka Dragunova, the Dragunov sniper rifle ? is one of the most recognisable marksman's rifles ever produced. Designed by the Soviet weapons designer Yevgeny Dragunov and adopted by the Soviet Army in 1963, it was created to fill a role Western armies had largely abandoned after the Second World War: a semi-automatic rifle issued to a trained marksman inside an infantry squad, able to engage targets out to roughly 800 metres and deliver precision fire far beyond the reach of the AK-pattern rifles carried around it. Rather than a purpose-built bolt-action sniper system, the SVD was conceived as a robust, self-loading support weapon, and it was chambered for the same 7.62x54mm R rimmed cartridge as the Soviet machine guns already in service, which greatly simplified logistics. It runs on a short-stroke gas piston with a rotating bolt, feeds from a ten-round detachable magazine, and carries the Warsaw Pact side-rail mount on the left of the receiver that accepts Soviet-pattern optics ? most famously the PSO-1 telescopic sight with its illuminated reticle and stadiametric rangefinding scale. Its distinctive silhouette ? the slender barrel with a long slotted muzzle device, the ventilated handguard, and the skeletonized stock with its separate detachable cheek rest ? became known across the world through service with Soviet and Warsaw Pact forces and through decades of export and licensed production, including the Chinese Type 79 and Type 85 and the Yugoslav M76. More than half a century after its adoption, the SVD remains in service in large numbers and stands as the defining squad marksman rifle of the Soviet era.

Product Details

King Arms delivers the SVD Dragunov as an Ultra Grade AEG, bringing the Soviet marksman rifle to the electric airsoft platform with full-metal construction and a specification aimed at players and collectors alike. Rather than a generic marksman outline, this replica keeps the SVD's unmistakable silhouette and backs it with a quick-change spring system and the practical touches the Ultra Grade line is known for.

Externally, the rifle is built around a metal receiver capped by a steel top cover, paired with a metal 550mm outer barrel finished by a 118mm muzzle brake that carries the built-in front sight. A polymer 290mm handguard covers the front assembly, and the receiver is cut to accept Russian and Soviet style side-rail optics, so a PSO-pattern scope can be mounted in the traditional position and the rifle keeps its authentic profile. Furniture follows the SVD's distinctive layout: a polymer pistol grip integrated with a 234mm butt stock, which carries a polymer detachable cheek rest so the shooter can settle comfortably and repeatably behind a magnified optic. Feeding comes from a steel housing SVD magazine with a 200-round loading capacity ? far beyond the real rifle's ten rounds, and generous enough for sustained skirmish use.

The control set is executed in metal and steel: a metal gas block, a metal curved trigger housed within a steel trigger guard, a metal magazine release, a metal fire selector, and a metal rear sight. The metal bolt opens to reveal the hop-up adjustment, so backspin can be tuned without dismantling the rifle ? a genuinely practical touch on a platform where that adjustment is often buried. Firing modes cover both semi-automatic and fully automatic fire, letting the shooter switch between aimed precision shots and sustained fire as the situation demands.

Internally, the rifle is electrically powered, with the battery compartment housed inside the handguard ? a layout that keeps the wiring short and leaves the rifle's profile uncluttered. A quick-change spring system lets the main spring be swapped conveniently to meet different field power requirements. The combination of the SVD's unmistakable silhouette, full-metal construction where it matters, side-rail optics compatibility, generous magazine capacity, and tool-free hop-up access makes the King Arms SVD a characterful and capable option for players who want a marksman platform with genuine presence.
