Product Description:

Real Steel Background

The AK-74M ? the "M" standing for "Modernizirovanniy," or modernized ? is the definitive modern Kalashnikov, developed by Izhmash in the late 1980s and formally adopted by the Russian Armed Forces in 1991 as the successor to the AK-74 and AKM. Chambered for the 5.45x39mm cartridge introduced with the original AK-74, the modernized variant was engineered to be lighter, more economical to produce, and more durable in the field, and its most visible change was a wholesale move to black glass-filled polyamide furniture. The traditional wooden or Bakelite handguard and the skeletonized steel folding stock of the AKS-74 gave way to a solid, side-folding polymer stock and a matching polymer handguard, giving the rifle a distinctly modern, uniform black profile while shedding weight. Other refinements included a strengthened dust cover, an improved muzzle brake, and the retention of the standard dovetail side rail that allowed optics and night-vision devices to be mounted without dedicated mounts. The AK-74M's slotted muzzle brake proved remarkably effective at taming recoil and muzzle climb, further enhancing the Kalashnikov's already legendary controllability. Entering service as the Soviet Union dissolved, the AK-74M went on to arm Russian forces through the Chechen conflicts, the 2008 Russo-Georgian War, and every Russian deployment since, while also serving widely across former Soviet states and export customers. More than three decades after its adoption, it remains the most produced and most recognizable modern Kalashnikov in service.

Product Details

LCT, the Taiwan-based airsoft manufacturer celebrated for its full-steel AK replicas, presents the AK74M 2.0 as a stamped-steel AEG that pairs authentic Kalashnikov construction with a modern electronic trigger package. Long revered in the airsoft community for building guns that mirror their real-steel counterparts in material and heft, LCT has rendered the AK-74M with the stamped steel receiver, steel barrel assembly, and black polymer furniture that define the modernized Kalashnikov, then upgraded the platform with a GATE ASTER II Bluetooth MOSFET and a brushless motor. This 2.0 configuration captures the solid, side-folding-stock silhouette of Russia's modern service rifle while delivering the programmable control and responsive trigger of a contemporary high-performance AEG.

Externally, the rifle is built around a stamped steel receiver capped by a steel top cover, paired with a steel 310mm outer barrel fitted with an 84mm muzzle brake on a 14mm CCW / 24mm CW thread and a steel dummy gas block to complete the authentic front end. The polymer 245mm AK-74M side-folding stock folds to the left for compact carry and is finished with a steel stock pad and an integrated steel sling hook, while the polymer pistol grip and polymer AK 130-round magazine round out the furniture in the signature black polymer of the modernized Kalashnikov. Steel is used throughout the control group and sights: a metal curved trigger within a steel trigger guard, a steel magazine release, a steel fire selector, a steel charging handle, a steel front sight, and a steel AK rear sight leaf.

Internally, the AK74M 2.0 is built around a GATE ASTER II Bluetooth MOSFET, installed to GATE's specification for wiring and exit direction. This programmable electronic trigger unit lets the user configure trigger sensitivity, fire modes, pre-cocking, active brake, and other parameters from a smartphone, adding a layer of control and protection that a purely mechanical trigger cannot match. Power comes from a brushless 35000rpm motor, chosen for its strong torque, efficiency, and long service life, driving a reinforced gearbox that uses 9mm bushings/bearings, a chrome-plated brass cylinder, a CNC metal cylinder head, a CNC metal piston head, a CNC metal nozzle, and a polycarbonate piston with steel teeth riding on a steel ball-bearing spring guide. A 455mm chrome-plated brass inner barrel teams with a rotary POM hop-up chamber for precise, stable hop adjustment, and a quick-detach spring change system lets the main spring be swapped without a full teardown to meet different field power limits. Power is supplied by a 7.4V or 11.1V 20C Li-Po battery stowed inside the top cover, keeping the rifle's profile clean and free of external battery boxes. The combination of LCT's stamped-steel construction, authentic AK-74M furniture, and the GATE ASTER II and brushless motor package makes this 2.0 a standout choice for players who want the look and feel of the modern Kalashnikov backed by genuinely modern electronics.

Key Features

  • Steel 310mm outer barrel fitted with an 84mm muzzle brake on a 14mm CCW / 24mm CW thread, recreating the AK-74M's distinctive slotted brake and offering thread options for tracer or suppressor fitment
  • Steel dummy gas block completing the authentic Kalashnikov barrel furniture and matching the receiver's stamped steel construction
  • Stamped steel receiver forming the structural backbone of the rifle, delivering the weight, strength, and authentic stamped-metal character expected of an LCT build
  • Steel top cover sealing the receiver and doubling as the battery compartment, keeping the power source concealed within the rifle's silhouette
  • Polymer 245mm AK-74M side-folding stock that folds to the left for compact carry, finished with a steel stock pad and an integrated steel sling hook for secure sling attachment
  • Polymer pistol grip shaped for a comfortable, secure hold, balancing the rifle's weight and reducing fatigue during extended use
  • Polymer AK 130-round magazine supplying ample capacity for skirmish play while remaining compatible with standard AK-pattern pouches
  • Metal curved trigger housed within a steel trigger guard, offering a familiar AK-style pull and protecting the trigger group in the field
  • Steel magazine release and steel fire selector, presenting robust, authentic controls built to withstand hard use
  • Steel charging handle providing a realistic, durable cycling action that matches the rifle's steel-heavy build
  • Steel front sight paired with a steel AK rear sight leaf, delivering a durable, authentic sighting setup with the classic adjustable AK sight leaf
  • GATE ASTER II Bluetooth MOSFET installed to GATE's specification, allowing programmable trigger sensitivity, fire modes, pre-cocking, and active brake to be configured from a smartphone
  • Brushless 35000rpm motor delivering strong torque, high efficiency, and long service life for a responsive trigger and sustained automatic fire
  • 455mm chrome-plated brass inner barrel paired with a rotary POM hop-up chamber, providing precise, stable hop adjustment and consistent accuracy
  • Reinforced internals featuring 9mm bushings/bearings, a chrome-plated brass cylinder, a CNC metal cylinder head, piston head, and nozzle, plus a polycarbonate piston with steel teeth riding on a steel ball-bearing spring guide for dependable AEG cycling
  • Quick-detach spring change system letting the main spring be swapped without a full gearbox teardown, making it easy to tune muzzle energy for different field limits
  • Battery stored in the top cover, accepting either a 7.4V or 11.1V 20C Li-Po pack so the rifle keeps a clean, battery-box-free profile
